Last week, the Moore Council PTA held their annual spring luncheon at Emmaus Baptist Church. They awarded $1,000 Senior Scholarships, recognized PTA Site Volunteers of the Year, and many other awards.

Senior Scholarship Recipients

  • Garnet Hale, Moore High
  • Audrey Ryans, Westmoore
  • Kilton Ashley, Southmoore
  • Peyton Azbell, Southmoore
  • Anna Filipski, Southmoore

RaDonna Robbins of Central Elementary received the Best Principal Award, recognizing a leader who goes above and beyond to support both her school and her PTA. This principal has created a culture of safety, consistency, and support that is making a meaningful difference for students, staff, and families.
She is a true partner to her PTA—always encouraging, guiding, and showing up, whether in the classroom, at events, or behind the scenes. And we’ve even seen the amazing classroom space she’s given her PTA to use… and we might be just a little jealous.

Broadmoore Elementary received the Diversity & Inclusion Award, recognizing a PTA that has made intentional efforts to ensure every family feels seen, welcomed, and included. Broadmoore's PTA took thoughtful steps to expand communication for their Spanish-speaking families, and more recently, Vietnamese-speaking families, making sure important information is accessible and inclusive. From bilingual flyers and translated event communication to working closely with their school to reach specific families, their efforts have created a stronger sense of connection within their community.

Earlywine Elementary received the Health & Wellness Award, recognizing a PTA that has made a meaningful effort to promote health, wellness, and physical activity within their school community.
This PTA partnered with their school counselor to create a Health and Wellness Week focused on helping students build healthy habits. Through a variety of engaging stations, students explored topics like making smart snack choices, trying different forms of exercise like yoga and Zumba, practicing mindfulness, and participating in fun physical activities.

Heritage Trails Elementary received the Innovation Award, recognizing a PTA that took a bold step to try something new and create something uniquely their own. This PTA reimagined their fundraiser from the ground up, planning and executing a fully in-house fun run, color run, and obstacle course. They incorporated feedback from their community, created inclusive experiences for all students, and added creative touches that made the event truly special. Not only did their efforts exceed their fundraising goals, but they also built stronger connections across their school community and created a model they can continue to grow.

Winding Creek Elementary received the Family Engagement Award, recognizing a PTA that has found meaningful ways to bring families together and increase engagement within their school community.
This PTA reimagined their meetings by pairing them with family bingo and game nights, turning a routine meeting into something families look forward to. This simple but thoughtful approach has led to increased participation, giving families a chance to be involved while also creating time to connect and have fun together. More importantly, it’s helped create lasting memories for students and their families, which strengthens a school community.

Red Oak Elementary received the Outstanding Service Award, recognizing a PTA that has implemented an outstanding program to serve their students, families, and community. This PTA hosted a STEAM Night that brought hands-on learning opportunities to more than 400 students and family members. Through interactive activities and partnerships with local organizations, students explored science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a meaningful and engaging way. The event not only supported student learning but also strengthened family engagement and built connections between the school and the community.

Brink Junior High received the Student Involvement Award, recognizing a secondary school that has created meaningful opportunities for students to get involved and make a difference. This PTSA is leading a student-driven book drive to support local Title I elementary schools—helping provide access to reading materials while giving back to younger students in their own district. This project not only meets a real need but also encourages students to step into service, leadership, and community connection. The excitement and participation around this effort show just how impactful student-led initiatives can be.
